FOCUS: For Our Community Unity & Support, Inc. is now accepting applications for 

Legacy Partners in their new FOCUS FOUNDATION for ADDICTION PREVENTION.

Addiction plagues our area and in addiction science we know there is one answer to stopping substance use dependence and that’s prevention. FOCUS: For Our Community Unity & Support, Inc,. currently funded by the White House Office of Drug Control Policy under the Drug Free Communities Grant needs your help.

No single entity bears the sole responsibility for preventing youth drug use and misuse; rather a comprehensive blend of individually and environmentally focused efforts must be adopted and multiple strategies must be implemented across multiple sectors of a community to address this issue. Generalized universal prevention programs to help build strong families and provide youth with the skills to make good, healthy decisions are necessary.

However, there is also a need to focus specifically on environmental strategies which include changing social norms and reducing access and availability through systems and policy changes. In order to achieve population level reductions in drug use, a multi sector, and community based drug prevention infrastructure must be organized to strategically plan, implement and evaluate community wide comprehensive strategies as well as evidence-based drug prevention programs throughout multiple community sectors and settings. These strategies, programs and services are developed and delivered by the community as a whole and include multiple community partners, such as parents, youth, schools, youth serving organizations, healthcare providers, and other relevant community departments, sectors and participants. 

Here at FOCUS: For Our Community Unity & Support, Inc., we want to be sure we can continue to impact our community for generations to come after our grant with the ONDCP expires which is why we are asking for your help in creating a Foundation by becoming one of our Legacy Partners.

What do we know?

We know that once we create the FOCUS Foundation on Addiction Prevention, we can be sure not to depend on government and public funding to provide support, that 5.25% of our private donors money will go back into our community on an annual basis to help prevent substance use in our community, all while the invested assets continue to grow. We know that once this is set up, your Legacy of creating social impact for our youth in Western New York will endure forever. We know that every $1 spent on Addiction prevention saves us $2-$20 in Addiction Recovery services. 

What is our goal?

We have a total fundraising goal of $20k annually starting in 2020, that will go strictly to the development of this Foundation which will give you an opportunity to be a Legacy Partner.  

What can you do?

Say yes today to be one of our Legacy Partners and choose to create a legacy in addiction prevention in WNY.

Who can Apply?

• Diamond Level Legacy Partners for a minimum of $5k donation
• Platinum Legacy Partners for a minimum $1k-$4,999donation 
• Gold Legacy Partners for a minimum $500-$999 donation 

How do you do it?

First, contact us directly as soon as possible to be sure that there is still an open spot for your Legacy Partner Application. Secondly, designate your funds for processing and all donations are tax-deductible. 

What do you get for becoming a Legacy Partner?

• You will receive a Legacy Partner Plaque designating you or your Business as one of our Legacy Partners
• You will be listed on our website as a Legacy Partner on the Foundation’s page, recognized as a donor, and linked to your website
• Press Releases - Print and Digital in regards to the announcement of the Foundation and interviewed for the FOCUS TV Podcast
• Listed on all Program Brochures at Impact Events
• Average reach between all media is 5k monthly
• Diamond Level Partners get a complimentary LIVE interview with the Sweet Buffalo Show on Channel 4
